Dear singers, beloved family, fabulous friends, and heroic supporters,
Clear your calendar (and then happily refill it with literally anything else) for the most delightfully unconventional fundraiser of the year:
Yes, you read that correctly.
This year, instead of asking you to squeeze into fancy clothes, locate your “dressy” shoes, wrestle with shapewear, or politely chew a suspiciously dry chicken breast while pretending to enjoy a keynote speech… we’re inviting you to do something far more radical:
Stay home. Or go out. Or garden. Or kayak. Or binge-watch detective shows in pajamas.
In fact, we enthusiastically encourage you to not attend our gala.
That’s right — no socks, no shoes, no bra required.
No sequins. No hairspray. No uncomfortable small talk.
No parking nightmares. No auction paddles. No awkward centerpieces.
Just you, joyfully doing whatever you’d rather be doing… while supporting a cause that truly matters.
What Your Generous “Absence” Supports:
Choral Riser Storage, Transportation, and Maintenance
After the church that generously hosted our rehearsals for years was sold to a developer last year, our beloved choral risers began their unexpected second act… in a chorus member’s garage.
While we are deeply grateful, our risers deserve a life beyond suburban storage.
Our fundraising goal of $8,500 will help us purchase:
- A trailer for choral risers
- Insurance
- A wheel boot
- A GPS tracker
In other words: everything needed to safely transport, protect, and preserve the risers that literally help us rise.

On June 21st, Northwest Harmony Chorus will be performing at the Veteran’s Administration Community Living Center in Vancouver WA to celebrate US Veterans and fathers everywhere. All who donate during this campaign will receive a link to view a recording of this special performance and the successful conclusion of our first no-go fundraiser, the I’d Rather Be… Gala.
